when's it time to move from sql to nosql

Hey everyone, so I'm on this project that's really taking off, and honestly, our relational database is starting to feel a bit strained with some of the queries we're running. We're not hitting any hard limits or anything, but some of our data's gotten pretty complex, and the way we need to access it is making me think we should look into NoSQL. Have any of you made this switch or thought about it? When did you realize you needed to move on from SQL, either for certain things or even for your whole setup?
