when do you think about caching database query results?

hey everyone, i've been working on a project with a lot of repetitive database queries that are starting to bog down performance. i'm thinking about implementing some form of caching for these results, but i'm not sure what the best approach is or when its truly worth the complexity. what are your experiences with caching database queries? what factors do you consider when deciding if and how to implement it?
