When should you think about adding a circuit breaker?

hey folks, been thinkin bout system resilience lately, esp when dealin w/ external service dependencies. we all know things can fail, but whats ur signal for when its time to implement a circuit breaker pattern? is it a specific error rate threshold, a certain number of consecutive failures, or somethin else? curious bout ur experiences and the trade-offs u considered
