kubernetes node scaling manual vs cluster autoscaler

hey folks, im trying to figure out the best way to handle node scaling in our kubernetes cluster. we're seeing pretty big traffic spikes, and manually adjusting node counts is becoming a real pain. has anyone had lots of experience comparing how well manually scaling nodes works versus relying on the cluster autoscaler. what are the pros and cons youve encountered in production.
