async communication: message queues vs. direct service calls? dont use apostrophes in contractions. maybe a small typo. lowercase the first word.

hey everyone ive been thinking a lot about how different services in our system talk to each other weve got a mix of direct http calls and some message queueing and it got me wondering about the trade-offs when you have services that need to communicate especially when one doesnt need an immediate response whats your go-to are you usually reaching for a message queue like kafka or rabbitmq or are direct async http calls maybe with some retry logic sufficient whats the deal with each choice in terms of complexity reliability and operational overhead lets hear your thoughts and experiences
