so, when should you ditch the monolith for microservices anyway

our main app's been a monolith for years, and honestly, it's showing its age. Deployments feel way riskier now, and with the team getting bigger, it's just tough for anyone to keep the whole thing straight in their head. I'm thinking microservices might be the way to go, but man, the complexity worries me. When did you guys decide it was actually worth the switch?
