Integrated Cloud Stacks: Blessing or Bottleneck for Multi-Cloud Strategies?

I've been thinking a lot about the push for vertically integrated cloud services and what it truly means for system architects. On one hand, the article makes a compelling case for how these integrated stacks can unlock incredible efficiencies and accelerate innovation, especially when building complex applications. You get tightly coupled services that just work together, often with optimized performance that would be tough to achieve with disparate components. But what about the flip side? Does this deep integration inadvertently lock us into a single vendor more tightly, making true multi-cloud or even hybrid-cloud strategies more challenging to implement and maintain? Are we trading architectural flexibility for immediate development velocity? I'm curious to hear how others are balancing these factors in their designs.
