Load Balancing for Microservices: Round Robin versus Least Connections?

hey folks, im trying to optimize our microservice communication and im stuck on a common decision, load balancing strategy. we're currently using simple Round Robin, but ive been wondering if Least Connections would offer better performance, especially with varying request durations. has anyone made the switch or have strong opinions on which performs better in practice for microservice architectures? what factors did you consider?
