microservice communication: sync versus async? dont you wonder about that sometimes

Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about how our different microservices communicate lately. Some parts of our system are pretty tightly coupled, relying on synchronous REST calls. But then I see other teams using message queues for asynchronous communication, and that seems to offer more resilience. What are your experiences with choosing between synchronous and asynchronous communication patterns for microservices? Are there specific scenarios where one is clearly better than the other, or is it mostly about trade-offs?
