how do you warm up caches for read replicas that get a lot of traffic? like, what are some good methods?

we're setting up a new read replica for our main database, because the load's been crazy lately. and we're wondering about the best way to 'warm' its cache. we really want to avoid those initial cache misses hitting the replica hard before it's up to speed. has anyone had success with specific strategies for this? we were thinking about pre-populating it with common query results, or maybe running a background process that mimics read traffic. what are your usual methods for this kind of thing
