logging, centralized or decentralized? dont know which is best.

hey everyone, i've been thinking a lot about how we handle logging across our services. we've got a mix of approaches, some services log to local files and we ship them later, and others stream directly to a central ELK stack. what are the trade-offs you've seen with these different strategies? i'm curious about performance impacts, ease of debugging, and overall operational overhead. any horror stories or best practices to share
