message queue scaling strategies?

hey everyone, looking to get some thoughts on scaling message queues. we're using Kafka and seeing some pretty big spikes in traffic. beyond just adding more brokers, what are your go-to strategies for handling massive message throughput? are you partitioning heavily, using tiered storage, or any other insights you can share? would be appreciated
