When you're working with microservices, how do you best manage background jobs?

Hey everyone, I'm setting up a new microservices architecture and trying to nail down the best way to handle background jobs. We need to deal with stuff like sending emails, processing images, and making reports without slowing down the main request flow. What do you all usually do? Are you spinning up separate worker services, using task queues like Redis, or have another approach? I'm really interested in what's worked well for you and any potential problems I should watch out for.
