when to ditch polling for WebSockets or SSE

hey every1 ive been thinkin a lot bout real-time updates lately. we curr use pollin for a few feat but it feels more and more inefficient as our user base grows. its great for simple cases, but managin the intervals and handlin missed updates can get messy. im leanin towards explorin web sockets or server-sent events SSE more seriously. for those whove made this transition, what were ur biggest hurdles, and are there specific scenrios where ud still advocate for pollin over persistent connections. im curious to hear ur experiences and best practises
