cache eviction policies, when to use LRU or LFU?

hey folks im lookin to optimize our caching layer and wanted to get some opinions on eviction policies we're seein some performance bottlenecks and i think our current lru least recently used might not be the best fit for all our use cases have any of you had success with lfu least frequently used or other strategies what factors did you consider when makin the switch and what were the outcomes curious to hear your war stories and best practices
