Whiteboard vs diagramming tools: tips for remote system design interviews?

Remote system design interviews have become the norm, and I find the whole whiteboard experience quite clunky. Drawing on a shared digital whiteboard (Excalidraw, Miro, Google Jamboard) just isn't as fluid as a physical whiteboard, and it often feels like I'm spending more time battling the tool than designing. Plus, sometimes I prioritize a 'clean' diagram over talking through the thought process. What are people's experiences with different digital diagramming tools in interviews? Are there any that stand out for ease of use and collaboration? Should I focus more on quick, rough sketches to illustrate concepts while verbalizing the design, rather than aiming for a polished diagram? I'm trying to find the right balance between clearly communicating my design visually and not letting the tool get in the way of demonstrating my problem-solving skills.
