What do you usually use for distributed tracing?

i'm having a rough time lately, you know, figuring out how requests move between our microservices. it's gotten super complicated, and honestly, i can't pinpoint where things are slowing down. have you guys found any cool tools or tricks for tracking requests in systems like this, where everything's spread out? i need something that's actually doable without making everything sluggish, and that doesn't bog us down too much.
