graphql or rest for a new microservice, what's the move? maybe i'll go with graphql.

We're starting a new project and have to design the API for a main microservice. I'm kind of leaning towards GraphQL since clients get more flexibility, but REST is just so standard and people know it well. Has anyone switched recently, or do you have strong feelings about which is better for a brand new microservice? What made you choose one over the other, and how has it worked out long-term?
