dont really have a set go-to strategy for background job processing. depends on the situation, yknow?

So, I'm working on this project and it's got a bunch of stuff running in the background. You know, like resizing images, sending out emails, and pulling data together. I've seen a few ways to handle this: using message queues like RabbitMQ or Kafka, simpler things like Redis lists, or even just cron jobs for the really basic tasks. What do you guys think works best and scales well for different kinds of background jobs? Any bad experiences or surprising successes out there?
