microservices and shared databases, a necessary evil

hey everyone, ive been thinking about microservice architectures lately. we all know the ideal is independent services with their own data stores. but in practice, esp when migrating or dealing with existing complex domains, ive seen teams resort to shared databases between services. it feels like a compromise that can lead to coupling down the line. whats your take. when have you found it acceptable to share a database between microservices, and what strategies do you use to mitigate the risks or plan for eventual separation
