redis or memcached for caching lol

hey folks, im trying to decide on a caching layer for a new project and im weighing Redis against Memcached. i've used both before, but usually in established systems where the choice was already made. for this new build, im leaning towards Redis because of its data structure support and persistence options. however, Memcached is known for its simplicity and raw speed in certain scenarios. what are your go-to reasons for picking one over the other in a greenfield project? any specific case studies or trade-offs you've learned from?
