message queue durability versus performance, what's your trade-off

hey everyone, im wrestling with a common problem, choosing the right durability settings for our message queues. we use RabbitMQ for critical inter-service communication. sometimes, guaranteeing message delivery even in the face of broker restarts (publisher confirms, persistent messages) adds latency. other times, we could probably get away with less stringent durability to squeeze out more throughput. what are your thoughts on finding the sweet spot? do you have different durability requirements for different types of messages or services? how do you measure the impact of durability settings on performance?
