event sourcing vs cqrs when do they make sense

Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about Event Sourcing and CQRS lately. They seem powerful for certain use cases, especially in complex domains where audit trails and temporal queries are important. But they also add a lot of complexity. When have you found these patterns to be a clear win? Are there specific types of applications or business problems where you'd strongly recommend them, or conversely, where you'd steer clear due to the overhead?
