dont think we can use Kafka for more than just event streaming

i've been seeing kafka pop up in more and more architectures, and it's mostly for standard event streaming use cases. but i'm wondering if anyone has pushed its capabilities further? for example, has anyone used kafka streams or ksqlDB for complex real-time analytics or even as a lightweight operational data store? what were the trade-offs compared to traditional databases or data warehouses. curious to hear your experiences
