how do you deal with stuff people put online when it might not show up everywhere right away

so, i'm building this platform where people upload tons of stuff, and keeping it running all the time is super important. we're thinking about a distributed system, which means the data might not show up everywhere at the same exact moment. for things users post, like comments or articles, what do you usually do to handle eventual consistency? have you found any ways that really work well to make sure users have a good experience, but we still get the benefits of a distributed setup
