When should you actually start using message queues? It really depends on your project's needs.

So, I'm building this microservices thing, and some services just talk to each other straight up using REST. But for a new feature, we're thinking about something a bit more complicated, you know, with messages going back and forth and stuff not happening all at once. It seems like message queues, maybe Kafka or RabbitMQ, could work. My worry is, is that just too much for us right now? What are the signs that you know, okay, direct calls aren't cutting it anymore and it's time for a message queue?
