when to embrace microservices?

hey everyone, i've been thinking a lot about microservices lately. we're currently running a monolith, and its getting pretty unwieldy as we add more features. i've seen a lot of teams jump to microservices as a silver bullet, but i'm wondering when its the *right* time to actually make that move. what are the key indicators or triggers that tell you your monolith is causing more pain than a distributed system would? are there specific team structures or organizational needs that make microservices a better fit?
