when should you move from a monolith to microservices?

hey all im wrestling w a decision for our main app its currently a monolith and tho it was great for getting started were hitting some scaling and deploy bottlenecks ive been reading up on microservices and the potential benefits r clear but the added complexity and op overhead r concerning at what point do the advantages of microservices really start to outweigh the costs and complexity for a growing app what were your experiences when making this transition
