when should you think about GitOps for your infra

hey all, ive been seeing gitops pop up more and more. were currently managing our cloud infra manually via the console and some scripts, but it feels like were hitting a scaling limit. has anyone here successfully adopted gitops? what were the pain points and what benefits did you see? is it overkill for smaller teams or a good practice from day one
