when do you really need to start thinking about GitOps?

hey folks ive been seeing a lot of buzz around gitops lately, esp for managing infra as code and deployments. seems like a good fit for teams already heavy into git workflows. but beyond the buzzwords, whats the real way to know if a team or project is ready for gitops? are there certain pain points or team sizes that make it a nobrainer, or are there downsides to think about before diving in? curious to hear your experiences and thoughts on when this approach really shines
