real-time notifications: websockets or server-sent events? dont really know the difference.

hey ppl, im buildin a new thingy that needs stuff updated instantly from the server to the client, like live chat or scores. im wonderin bout WebSockets vs Server-Sent Events. WebSockets are prob more powerful cuz they go both ways, but SSE seems easier for just pushin stuff one way. whats ur take? wen did u pick one over the other, and why. any hidden problems with either
