so, when can you actually skip strict ACID compliance?

Hey everyone, I've been chewing on transactional guarantees in system design lately. We usually aim for ACID properties, right, especially for important financial stuff. But what about other situations? For data that's not as crucial, or systems where eventual consistency is already the norm, when does it actually make sense to ditch strict ACID compliance? You know, to get better performance or just make things simpler. I'd love to hear what you all think and if you have any real-world examples.
