microservices, how granular is too granular

hey folks, im wrestling with the right size for microservices. we've been breaking things down, and i'm starting to wonder if we're going too far. we've got services that are only a few hundred lines of code and communicate constantly. does anyone have a good rule of thumb or experience with when to stop splitting, or perhaps when to merge them back?
